The Craigslist headline !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! "Custom Corvette". This is not a custom corvette. It's a parts car built by a man in a shed.

Think of it as an investment. Imagine the market for parts car C2s in the future!

This is the whole crack house, pipes included. Really though if you're going to build your own midyear coupe, who doesn't build a split window? A fool, that's who.

Do you not like the split window but do like the midyear body style (63-67) or are you just meh on all of them?

New kit car? $10,000 is a good starting point for negotiations.

It's just the split window I don't like. I love the rest of the body style, but I'm with Zora on the whole visibility thing.

Certainly from a visibility and practical aspect the split window loses but there's just something about it that pulls my nostalgia strings. I remember the first time I saw one probably 25 or 30 years ago it was a friends dad's and we weren't allowed in the garage with it. I remember standing on the bumper of his mom's station wagon to look through the garage windows at it. It was truly a glorious thing, It was black and shiny. I remember saying out loud "wow a split window, amazing" It was the first time I ever felt anything about a car. Oh to be young again in a world filled with so much awe and wonder.......

I am far too young to remember them new, I've only seen them at car shows and specialty dealerships. They are pretty on account of the whole car being an attractive styling exercise, but I'd rather take a '65 or '66 coupe. Big block with side pipes and turbine wheels, please.
Though if I could have one pre-aero-and-fuel-economy-rule-all vintage Corvette, it has to be a red 1959 hard-top with contrasting white coves and a manual. It's just...classic.

I'd have a hard time picking one but a 67 L71 in black would do the trick. Side pipes are a must of course.

Black looks absolutely stunning when it's clean, but I think when I move on from my C4 I'm finished with black cars. It's one of those things where it has to be a labour of love and a labour to love to keep up with, but I'm getting worn out with it due to my mildly OCD tendencies.

Agree 100%, the only way I'll own another black car is when I can afford to pay someone else to wash and wax it every week.

It's the swirl marks, y'know? On almost any other colour, they don't matter so much. On black? "Ugh" is all I have to say.
I think I'll only ever get another black car if it's going to be a fair-weather toy. My current is a daily driver, and as such it gets dirty every day.
